A large area of showers and embedded thunderstorms moved across
southwest and south central Kansas overnight, as a slow moving cold
front progressed across Kansas. Some areas also saw smoke
filled skies, due to wildfires in Alberta Canada. Early morning
temperatures ranged from the middle 50s in northwest Kansas, to the
middle 60s in Oklahoma.

The chance of showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue
across portions of southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma, as the
cold front drops south into southern Oklahoma. The rest of the
region may see partly cloudy and smoky skies, from the wildfires in
Alberta. High temperatures today will range from the lower 60s in
southwest Kansas, to the lower 70s across central Kansas.

Mostly clear skies will return to the region tonight, as a Canadian
ridge of high pressure builds into the plains. Smoky skies are also
expected to continue. Low temperatures tonight will range from the
lower 40s in Nebraska, to the upper 40s in Oklahoma.
